Shrouds of the Somme Remembrance exhibition - bristol

This years Remembrance Day was marked with a special memorial for those that fell. It featured 19,240 shrouded 12 inch figures arranged in rows on the ground. They represent each of the British soldiers killed on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.’The Shrouds of the Somme’ was created by Somerset artist Rob Heard who wrapped and bound each shroud.
