Let it snow…

The remains of a plant in the winter snow
Well, there’s a surprise! We awoke to find a thick layer snow all around and near freezing temperatures. Here was a rare opportunity not to be missed. With that I jumped out of bed, slung on some clothing and I was out with my camera before breakfast.

I found that the most important lesson to learn when taking photographs of snow was not to wear Crocs. The snow gets in everywhere and before long you end up with soggy cold feet which kind of detracts from the job at hand. Oh! and try to wear a proper coat, indeed any coat, which is preferable to no coat at all as I found out.

Anyway, the snow soon turned to slush and by the next morning it had frozen over and became a bit lethal in places. To be honest it was a relief when it had all melted and we could all go back to eating and drinking and making merry.
