Malvern Hills
One of the things you notice when visiting the Malvern show is the hills that loom over the showground. We often wonder about visiting them and seeing what they are like. This Summer we managed to visit them during a quick break at the end of August.
At the southern end of the hills is a spectacular Iron-Age hill fort with spectacular views in all directions. We attempted this and the middle section of the hills on the first day under a scorching hot sun and a gentle breeze.
On the second day the visibility from the hills was a little murky. We managed to scale all 1395 feet of the highest point, Worcestershire Beacon. And then, to finish, we went on to North Hill.
For a Bank Holiday weekend it wasn’t that busy on the hills, certainly not like the Brecon Beacon’s hot spots. So if you like hills and spectacular views then the Malvern’s have much to recommended them. Photographs from this trip are in the Summer gallery here.
