A wier at Snuff Mills after heavy overnight rain

This one was taken while on a walk at Snuff Mills in Bristol after heavy overnight rain. When we reached the weir the river was running pretty fast and wild. Here I’ve experimented with a longer shutter exposure – but with no tripod at my disposal I had to attempt the task hand held! This is always going to be a bit hit and miss and indeed four of the five shots I took were pretty blurred. Luckily this one one was perfect. I’d like to think I’m pretty good at standing still, breath held and holding the camera still but I’m sure an element of luck was involved here…
