Summer slips away

After the heat of the previous weeks the later half of August sees rain and strong winds. It can be so disappointing when we expect wall-to-wall sunshine and it doesn’t deliver.

But whatever it looks like outside it’s still holiday season and there’s a day to fill. So we took a trip to Brakenwood garden center near Leigh Woods. It’s a terrific place to visit and we both thoroughly enjoyed our time there, even if our wallets didn’t. It’s a large space with lots of nooks and crannies and plenty to look at. There was a polytunnel full of interesting plant pots that caught my eye and camera.

We followed that with a short walk up at Purdown. It was good to get out in the brief sunshine, all the best to recharge batteries before the imminent return to work.
