Tier 2 mornings
It’s got to that time of the year where my working day is the only time I see daylight from Monday to Friday. Darkness greets me in the morning when I walk in and it gets dark by the time I’ve walked home. It’s a long walk. I would be much easier to catch the bus but I see far too many people with either a mask around their neck or none on at all. So no bus!
In the morning parts of town, fairly quiet under Tier 3, have become busy again now we are in Tier 2. How long we will be in Tier 2 is anyone’s guess but I doubt it will be long before we move up again.
It has been a long and gruelling term working under Covid restrictions in the classroom. It’s become unusual for all our year groups to be in at the same time. It’s a regular occurrence for a year group or two to be sent home after a positive case. Everything changes almost every day and we have to adapt which is so draining. We have no idea what we will be going back to in January.
One thing that brightens my day as I walk in as dawn breaks are the Christmas lights. They shine out, bright and warm, amongst the cold drab grey of the buildings. In some places, this early in the morning, there is hardly a soul to be seen or much traffic. So here they are.
