Waiting for Spring

A sunny February walk at Stoke Park

As the February half-term holiday comes to an end I find my thoughts drawn towards the Spring. It’s perceptibly lighter later in the evenings and we’ve had a few bright, sunny days this last week. There are bulbs coming up and nature seems to be waking from it’s long deep winter sleep. These photographs were taken on a walk around Stoke Park Estate on a cold but sunny day.

Unfortunately there was recent news that Triplekite books are to cease trading. I have used them before and the service was excellent. They had a closing down sale and I ordered three beautiful photography books – ‘Sirens’ by Rachael Talibart, ‘The Pool’ by Iain Sarjeant and ‘With Trees’ by Dav Thomas. All are wonderful and worth tracking down if you can.

I find I’ve been taking more photographs on my iPhone in an effort to get into a comfortable workflow. I can take RAW photos using Lightroom CC ( was Lightroom Mobile) and the quality is pretty good. I can then sync them back to my desktop if I wish to work on them in Lightroom Classic which is cool. I’ve also been tinkering around with Snapseed which has promise. I’m trying not to over complicate my workflow so limit the amount of apps on my phone. So far so good…
